Teen faces felony charges
An area man is facing several sodomy charges after he allegedly had deviate sexual intercourse with a girl less than 12 years old.
Cody Whitehead, 17, of Leadington, is charged with three felonies of statutory sodomy in the first degree. Whitehead is being held in the Madison County Jail on a $375,000 bond.
According to Leadington Police Chief Dustin McKinney, on April 16 the Leadington Police Department was called to the Central School District after a girl approached a teacher about an incident that occurred with Whitehead in Leadington.
According to court documents, an officer responded to the school to interview Whitehead about the allegations. The officer asked him if he was at a specific friend’s house on or about April 13 where there were minors drinking alcohol.
Whitehead told the officer he was there and there was drinking going on while he was there. Whitehead was asked who purchased the alcohol and he told the officer who bought it. The officer also asked if he aware of any allegations that were being made against him.
Whitehead informed the officer that he was aware of the allegations and that the two girls were lying and nothing had happened. The officer asked Whitehead if his DNA would be found anywhere on the girl involved. He told the officer that the girl jumped on top of him and they kissed.
Whitehead was asked if there was any other kind of touching. He said they were both partially clothed while he kissed her. He said when she got down he kissed the other girl. He was asked what happened after that and Whitehead said that the girl didn’t want to do anything until her friend went to sleep.
He said after her friend fell asleep she took off her shirt and climbed back on top of him and started kissing him again. He said they engaged in a sexual activity.
