Turner Coggins

PARK HILLS — Turner J. Coggins, age 74, of Park Hills, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

Turner was born Tuesday, May 18, 1943, in Blytheville, Arkansas. He was the son of Shelby Turner Coggins and Wilma Lee Howell Coggins.

For more than 30 years, Turner was a master painter of Corvettes for General Motors until his retirement.

Turner possessed an eye for detail and composition, and he used his talent not only as a painter, but also in his creative passion for landscaping. His hobbies included shooting long rifles and playing pool. Turner enjoyed cooking and barbequing for his family and friends. He was also a lifelong and faithful fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Wilma Coggins; his stepdaughter, Jamie Rodgers; brother, Jerry Coggins; and his sister, Shirley Thomas.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Kathy J. Coggins; his children, David Coggins (wife, Stephanie), Mark Coggins (wife, Tonya), Sheila Steinmetz (husband, Tim), Melanie Voice (husband, Steve), Kristi Pratt (husband, Troy), and Toni Travis (husband, Joseph); brother, Don Coggins, fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
