Memorial Day ceremonies honor the fallen

Farmington VFW Post 5896 and American Legion Post 416, along with Farmington Air Force JROTC Color Guard and Bugler will hold ceremonies honoring fallen members of the military at local cemeteries Memorial Day May 28. Special observances will also be held at the St. Francois County Courthouse in Farmington and the Madison County Courthouse in Fredericktown. The VFW, American Legion and JROTC invites everyone to attend these services and pay tribute to fallen members of the military.

Ceremonies will be held at the following locations and times

6:45 a.m. – Odd Fellows Cemetery (Ste. Genevieve Avenue)

7 a.m. – Lutheran Cemetery (Hwy. 32)

7:15 a.m. – Hill View Memorial Garden

7:30 a.m. – Copenhagen Cemetery

7:45 a.m. – William Murphy Cemetery (Old Fredericktown Road)

8 a.m. – Knights of Pythias Cemetery (H Hwy)

8:10 a.m. – New Calvary Cemetery (H Hwy)

8:20 a.m. – Masonic Cemetery (S. Henry St.)

8:20 a.m. – Old Calvary Cemetery (S. Henry St.)

9:10 a.m. – Libertyville Cemetery

9:40 a.m. – Fredericktown Courthouse

10:10 a.m. – Knob Lick Cemetery

10:35 a.m. – Pendleton Cemetery (Doe Run)

10:45 a.m. – IOOF (Doe Run)

11:10 a.m. – Alexander Cemetery (Parkland Hospital)

11:45 a.m. – Park View Cemetery (Weber Road)

12:05 p.m. – Three Rivers Cemetery

12:25 p.m. – Masonic Cemetery (Colony Church Road)

12:45 p.m. – Farmington Courthouse

The Farmington VFW Post 5896, the Farmington American Legion Post 416 and Farmington High School's JROTC spent Memorial Day 2015  honoring fallen comrades at local cemeteries. The three groups begin early in the morning, visiting cemeteries in the area and holding a special ceremony in remembrance.
