H.J. ‘Joe’ Beardsley
FARMINGTON – H.J. “Joe” Beardsley of Farmington passed away May 20, 2018, at De Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis at the age of 81. He was born February 27, 1937, in Bell City, MO, to the late Lee and Elmina (Shell) Beardsley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Beardsley and a sister, Kay Layton.
Joe proudly served his country as a veteran of the Army, the Army Reserves, the National Guard and retired from the United States Marines Corp. He was a self-made man with an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a member of Calvary Church, was a passionate Christ follower and loved to share the Word about Jesus.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen (Bolton) Beardsley of Farmington, children, Bonnie Fernandez of Deltona, FL, Iain (Wynnette) Beardsley of Oakville, MO, and Lesley (Chad) Hurta of Deland, FL, grandchildren, Trista, Laken, Leah, Cameron, Joseph, Isabella, Molly, Benjamin and Maggie, great grandchildren, Collin, Dakota, and Zoe, siblings, Lavona Bradley, Bob Beardsley, Gary Beardsley, Larry Beardsley and Charles Beardsley, his loving in laws from Scotland, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 24 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church, 1725 MO 72, Fredericktown, MO.
