FIS announces Distinguished Award for 2017-2018

Fredericktown Intermediate School was recognized for empowering students to thrive in an ever evolving world and achieving exemplary results from Project Lead The Way (PLTW).

FIS is a PLTW distinguished school for 2017-2018, which makes us one of 390 schools in the U.S.

To be awarded this achievement FIS is offering more than two modules per grade level in the school which creates a hands on learning environment which allows the young students to experience working with others through trial and error to reach a common goal.

Through PLTW, students learn to adapt and excel while also discovering their potential and the opportunities available to them. This transformative learning experience comes to life in the classroom thanks to the vision and dedication of the school’s teachers and administrators.

Lead PLTW teachers are (left to right) Jennifer Miller, Lindsey Jenkins, Tabitha Smith, Tara Hale, Doug Snyder, Shannon Hovis, and Culley Tucker.
