Collision results in fire, injuries

A two-vehicle crash on Monday resulted in both vehicles on fire and two individuals injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report, TC Evans, 32, of Fredericktown, was traveling west on Route J when he swerved to the left lane in his 2011 Toyota Prius. The vehicle then ran off the the left side of the road as Paul J. Sauer, 51, was traveling eastbound in his 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Evans’ vehicle struck Sauer’s vehicle.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicles were both on fire and the Cherokee Pass Fire Department was called to the scene.

Koti Kennon, 25, acquired moderate injuries as an occupant in one of the vehicles and was transported via ambulance to St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis. Sauer was taken to Madison County Medical Center via ambulance with minor injuries.

According to the report, all parties involved were wearing their safety devices and both vehicles were totaled.

One individual was injured in a crash on Highway 221 Monday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 7:15 p.m. Melinda Webb, 33, of Ironton, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she traveled partially off the roadway to avoid another vehicle. The driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to run off the left side of the roadway, striking the ground and overturning. 

Webb received moderate injuries and was taken to Parkland Health Center for treatment. According to MSHP, she was not wearing a seat belt.
