Cross Country Cats run in two meets

The Blackcats Cross Country teams competed in the Oak Ridge Invitational Sept. 18.

“We had a very strong showing in tough heat last night, with many of our athletes running their fastest time of the season,” Coach Colten Wooldridge said.

The Boys Varsity team finished second out of 17 schools.

Four Blackcats earning medals by finishing in the top 20 were Brayden Mullins (Junior), Colton Helms (Senior), Lyndan Gruenke (Freshman), and Ralph Patterson (Junior).

Varsity Boys Results:

3rd – Brayden Mullins, 18:49

The Cats competed in the Ed White Warrior Invitational, Friday night in Arnold.

“With some cool conditions our athletes all hit their fastest times of the season,” Wooldridge said. 

The Fredericktown runners were split into two divisions with five runners in the varsity boys race and seven (4 boys and 3 girls) in the freshman division race. The varsity boys team took eighth out 13 schools. The Cats three medalists were Mullins, Gruenke, and Ava Laut.
