Richard William Atherton

Richard William Atherton, 42, of Fredericktown, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born November 16, 1975 in St. Louis, a son of Stanley Richard Atherton and Pamela Sue (Regh) Atherton.

Mr. Atherton married Rhonda Kay Reasoner December 22, 2002 in Hillsboro. She survives in Fredericktown.

Other survivors include his children Cierra Atherton-Tripp, Chelsea Atherton, Candance Atherton and Caleb Atherton; stepson Chavelle Gallagher; father Stanley Atherton; mother Pamela Atherton-Trigg; brothers Jason Johndrow and wife Jenny, Eric, Thomas and Stanley Atherton Jr.; sister Janet Atherton; grandsons Liam Tripp and Nolan Tripp; nephew, dear uncle and best friends – Don Hook, Michael “Taco” and Jerry Smith.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Joan Morehouse; grandfather William Regh and grandparents George and Avis Atherton.

Rich worked with amusement rides. He helped anyone in need and gave homeless people a home. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2019.
