Wallen Takes Bat and Glove To SEMO

Central High School senior Kimmy Wallen signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to play softball at Southeast Missouri State University, where she plans to pursue a career in Elementary Education. Wallen batted .571 without striking out, posted a 1.48 ERA while going 21-4 from the circle and broke several single-season records last spring while leading the Lady Rebels to second place at the state tournament. She is already a three-time all-state softball honoree. As a celebrated three-sport athlete, Wallen has helped the Central girls basketball team win conference and district titles, and is a multi-time state qualifier in the pole vault. Also seated are her parents Bryan and Kacy Wallen. Standing (left to right) are: Central counselor Ken Halter, track and field coach Bill Martin, assistant softball coach Taylor Friend, head basketball coach Josh Mapes and athletic director Chad Bradley.
