Blackcats top Indians, Warriors

The Fredericktown High School boys basketball team won a pair of games against conference opponents, last week.

Tuesday, the Cats topped Bismarck, 82-29, here. Fredericktown led 21-11 after one quarter and scored 31 points in the second quarter to take a 52-17 lead.

Grant Shankle led a balanced FHS offense with 16 points. Dylan St. Clair scored 13, Alex Sikes had 12, Seth Laut had ten, Logan Winkelman scored nine, Colton Rehkop had six, Clark Penuel scored four, and Ethan Flanagan scored three.

Dec. 12, the Cats won 63-55 at Valle. 

Fredericktown led 13-11 after one quarter, but trailed 25-20 at the half. A 20-12 third quarter allowed the Cats to take the lead.

Winkelman led the team with 19 points, including 15 in the second half. Rehkop scored 15, Sikes had 14 (all in the second half), Shankle had nine, St. Clair scored four, and Laut had two.

The Cats got the No. 11 seed in the Central Christmas Tournament, which begins next week. They play No. 6 Potosi at 8:30 p.m., Dec. 27.
