Danny L. Thompson
FREDERICKTOWN — Danny L. Thompson was born August 8, 1938, at Ironton, the son of Rouse and Virginia Thompson, and passed away March 27, 2019 at Fredericktown at the age of 80 years.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Jennifer “Ginger” Moyers.
Danny is survived by his wife Dean, whom he married January 1, 1960, at Reno, Nevada; two sons, Mark (Kell) Thompson, and Phil (Marilyn) Thompson; two grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Thompson, and Jordan (Amanda Coker) Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Camden, Emma, and Max Thompson; one brother, Steve (Dolly) Thompson; niece, Heather Boever and family; and nephew, Chris Lawrence and family.
Danny was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church; was Madison County Collector for 32 years; operated the bus business started by his father in 1930; and he enjoyed woodcarving, coin collecting, fishing, and his grandkids ballgames.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday March 29, 2019 at Follis & Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Follis & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Berry officiating. Interment to be held in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Fredericktown.
