Danny L. Thompson

Danny L. Thompson, 80, died March 27, 2019 in Fredericktown. He was born August 8, 1938 at Ironton, the son of Rouse and Virginia Thompson.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jennifer “Ginger” Moyers.

Danny is survived by his wife Dean, whom he married January 1, 1960 in Reno, Nevada; sons Mark (Kell) Thompson and Phil (Marilyn) Thompson; grandchildren Matthew (Nicole) Thompson and Jordan (Amanda Coker) Thompson; great-grandchildren Camden, Emma, and Max Thompson; brother Steve (Dolly) Thompson; niece Heather Boever and family; and nephew Chris Lawrence and family.

Danny was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was Madison County Collector for 32 years. He operated the bus business started by his father in 1930, and he enjoyed woodcarving, coin collecting, fishing, and his grandkids’ ballgames.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Follis & Sons Chapel with Pastor Alan Berry officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
