Cats track teams complete busy week
The Fredericktown High School boys and girls track teams competed in three meets last week.
Saturday, the Cats competed in the Jackson Invitational. For the girls squad, Arihana Green was fourth in the shot put. On the boys side, Malachi Kyle was third in the triple jump, Evan Burrows was third in the javelin and Patrick Sikes was third in 110 meter hurdles.
Friday, the team ran in the Ste. Gen. Invitational. In the girls competition, Eva Laut took eighth place in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:27.37. For the boys, Blaine Fingers won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.41 seconds. Dawson Sutton won the javelin with a throw of 139-feet-3 inches. Patrick Sikes took fourth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.18. The 4X100 meter relay team of Kyle, Logan Yancey, Sikes and Brett Seper was fourth with a time of 47.23. Yancey was fourth in the 200 meters at 23.96. Skylar Holland was sixth at 24.11. Grant Shankle was eighth in the 400 with a time of 57.68. The 4X200 relay was seventh at 1:38.94; the 4X400 was seventh at 3:58.32, and the 4×800 took eighth at 10:07.22.
