House damaged by fire
The Fredericktown Fire Department responded to a house fire at 6:35 a.m. Friday at 719 S. Mine La Motte Ave.
Assistant Fire Chief Paul Brown said the fire started in a first-floor window of the two-story home and was fully extinguished by 7:11 a.m.
“Since the cause of the fire was undetermined, the police department has also filed a report,” Brown said.
Brown said the fire damage to the house was minor and the smoke damage was moderate.
Assisting the Fredericktown Fire Department were Madison County EMS, Fredericktown Police Department and Cherokee Pass Volunteer Fire Department was called in for mutual aid.
