Joseph Allen Reid Jr.

FARMINGTON – Joseph Allen Reid Jr., of Farmington, entered into eternal rest suddenly on August 20, 2022, in Branson at the age of 72. He was born on December 29, 1949, in St. Louis to the late Joseph Allen Reid Sr. and Doris (McNail) Reid. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Robert Reid.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Lynne (Hendricks) Reid of Farmington, his sons, Jeremy Reid, Ethan Reid, Kaleb Reid, Robert Reid, and Allen Reid, his grandchildren, Ian, Gracie, Jaxon, and Josiah, his siblings, Dennis (Paige) Reid of Farmington, Mary (Gene) Jesteadt of St. James, and Sue (Dave) McMahan of Portage Des Sioux, nieces, nephews, many other family members, numerous friends, and his special canine companion, Ashur.

Joseph proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He was a very talented woodworker, was the master carpenter for Washington University in St. Louis for over 45 years and a member of the Carpenters Union. He was also a member of Parkland Chapel in Farmington.

Joseph was kind, caring, gentle, and always put other’s needs and happiness above his own. He adored his wife and treated her like a queen and was an amazing dad to his boys. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, officiated by Pastor Mike Harrison. Interment to follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
