Norma ‘Ruth’ Williamson

FARMINGTON – Norma “Ruth” Williamson of Farmington passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 92. She was born March 31, 1930, in Hermann, Missouri, to the late Charles L. Raglin and Cathrine (White) Raglin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Elvis Williamson; a brother, Marcus Raglin; a sister, Pearl “Pat” Pierce; beloved son-in-law, Richard “Ricky” Pothetos and beloved cousin, Kathleen “Katie” Wampler.

Ruth was a graduate of Doe Run High School. She retired from Gifford Lumber Company where she was employed as their long-time bookkeeper. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother who dedicated her time to family and friends. She liked attending all sporting events, especially those of her grandchildren. She loved to be around people and enjoyed volunteering her time at Parkland Hospital and the Farmington Senior Center. In more recent years she lived at Cedarhurst and made it her job to make sure new residents there felt welcome. She was a devout Christian who had been a long time, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Farmington. Ruth enjoyed playing the piano all of her life. Friends and family will remember her great cooking skills, especially her wonderful fried chicken and potato soup. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include Ruth’s children, Denny Williamson of Bonne Terre, Tim (Lisa) Williamson of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Susan Pothetos of Farmington; grandchildren, Christa (B.J.) Tinsley, Courtnie (Pat) Burns, Natalie (Mike) Boyd, Nick (Stephanie) Pothetos, Corey (Jennifer) Davis and Nicholas (Jennifer) Davis; great-grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Caroline, Anna, Ally, Scarlett, Alyssa, Kendra, Lena, Cole, Tanner, Nico, Alice and Aida; special niece and nephew, Robin Tolbert and Rand Raglin and numerous other beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
