Harold Eugene Brotherton
PARK HILLS – Harold Eugene Brotherton, 80, went to sleep at his Park Hills, Missouri, home and awoke in Jesus’ presence December 17, 2022.
Harold was born October 10, 1942, in Esther, Missouri, to Pearl Leatha Brotherton and Ruth Kenneth nee Nichols Brotherton. He was a 1960 graduate of Esther High School. Harold worked hard all of his life and retired from the Flat River Glass Factory. He enjoyed being outside and was a gifted gardener who could grow a mountain from a pebble, liked to fish, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, trusted Jesus with his salvation and was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Farmington, Missouri, but loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
Harold is survived by his daughters Lisa Brotherton (and husband Rob Barnes), and Tracey Brakefield (and husband Jimmy) of Farmington, Missouri; grandchildren Emily Hulsey (and husband Frankie) of Desloge, Missouri, Drew Brakefield of Farmington, Missouri, Bobby Barnes (and wife Lola) of Farmington, Missouri, and Christian Barnes of Panama City, Florida; great-grandchildren, James Hulsey of Desloge, Missouri, and Ian and Blaire Barnes of Farmington, Missouri; sister, Judy Lambert of Concordia, Kansas; faithful friend, Michael Byrd of Park Hills, Missouri; and his beloved canine companion, Missy. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Ruth; his first wife and mother of his children, Helen Moses Brotherton; his second wife, Shirley Huitt Brotherton; brothers, Paul, Fred, Larry, Billy, and Claude; and sisters, Patsy, Glenda, and Shelba.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home, 1 Federal Park Avenue in Park Hills, Missouri, 63601. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Webb officiating. Graveside service and interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery on Weber Road, Farmington, Missouri.
