Fire destroys Madison County home
The Fredericktown Fire Department responded to a residential fire on Madison 201 the afternoon of July 18.
The initial call reported a person still being inside the residence, but fortunately crews arrived to find all members of the household out of the home.
Fire Chief John Clark said, the call came in at 4:16 p.m. and when firefighters arrived flames were venting out of the roof.
Cherokee Pass Fire District was called to assist with manpower and water supply. Madison County Ambulance District, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Black River Electric Cooperative and Madison County 911 assisted during the incident.
The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical, and it is not being investigated. The home is a total loss.
Firefighters worked at the scene until 7:56 p.m. No injuries were reported.
