Bonnie Kay Whitener

Bonnie Kay Whitener, 78, died Thursday, July 27, 2023. She was born January 12, 1945 in Oakland, California, the daughter of Homer D. and Lora (Cox) Berry.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carl Whitener whom she married at Mt. Pisgah Church.

Bonnie is survived by their children Jason Whitener and Angie (Steve) Starkey; brother Ronnie (Judy) Berry; sister Kathie Goad; grandchildren Meghan Swearengin, Colton (Erin) Starkey, Erin Whitener and Ethan Whitener; and great grandchildren Suede Swearengin and Denton Swearengin.

Bonnie was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was very active with her church and church camp. She enjoyed singing, spending time with family, and playing the piano.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Follis & Sons Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2023, also at Follis & Sons Chapel.
