Three separate accidents injure four

Three separate motor vehicle accidents that took place Tuesday and Wednesday in Jefferson, Washington and Madison counties resulted in a range of injuries to four people, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

The first, a two-car collision that injured two St. Francois residents,  occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of US 67 and Papin Road in Jefferson County.

According to the patrol, the 5:42 a.m. crash took place when a northbound 2000 Chrysler Concord driven by Jennifer Kimbell, 39, of Bonne Terre, was turning left onto the northbound lanes of US 67 from Papin Road, when she was struck from behind by a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven by David Schutte, 41, of Bismarck. The impact of the collision reportedly caused the Kimbell vehicle to overturn into the median cables.

The patrol reports that Kimbell was transported by Joachim-Plattin Emergency Medical Service to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus with moderate injuries. Schutte was transported by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with minor injuries.

Damage to Kimbell’s 2000 Chrysler was listed as totaled. The 2006 Malibu driven by Schutte was listed as receiving moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Marler’s Towing,

The second accident involved a Bonne Terre man who received moderate injuries in a wreck that took place Tuesday evening on Route 47 in Washington County.

According to the MSHP crash reports, the 8:40 p.m. accident took place when a northbound 2010 Chevrolet HHR driven by Dillan Evans, 26, failed to negotiate a curve to the right, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree, causing the SUV to overturn.

The patrol reports that Evans, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by a Washington County Ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi.

The car, listed as totaled, was removed from the scene by Marler’s Towing.

The third accident involved a 13-year-old juvenile who was moderately injured in an early Wednesday morning accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway OO and County Road 222 in Madison County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a northbound 2010 Ford Fusion driven by the juvenile attempted to make a left turn onto Highway OO, ran off the roadway, overturned, and struck a sign.

The juvenile, who was reportedly wearing their seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported by ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

The sedan, listed as totaled, was towed from the scene by D&D Wrecker Service.
