Highway 221 gets more lights soon

SIKESTON – Missouri Highway 221 in St. Francois County will soon have contractor crews working on the shoulder to install roadside lighting.

This section of road is located from Bray Road to Hyler Road in Farmington.

Weather permitting, work will take place Friday through Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

Several roads in the area are slated to receive improved lighting via MoDOT this summer. Highway 32 in Leadington, U.S. 67 exits in Bonne Terre, and more well-traveled roads are part of the Southeast regional plan to upgrade infrastructure.
