Search underway for lost teen

Adams was last seen Aug. 16

According to FPD, Chloe Alison Adams, 15, was last seen Aug. 16 around 10:30 a.m. when she left the home of a family friend in Fredericktown.

Police Chief Eric Hovis said Adams has recently been staying in Fredericktown after some family troubles, including her mother’s passing in Illinois.

Local authorities have been working with state and federal agencies to locate the teen. Numerous searches have been conducted daily, and FPD reports it is using every resource at its disposal.

Hovis said Adams left a note saying she would be back in a few days and not to call the police. Due to this note, the case does not qualify for an AMBER Alert. He said this is still “a very serious matter” as she has not returned or contacted friends or family since leaving.
