Fredericktown R-1 School District Assistant Superintendent Melanie Allen reads an inspirational poem before presenting the graduates their certificates of completion.

August 8, Ozark Regional Library-Fredericktown held a graduation for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a program to teach the joy of story to young listeners.

Addie, Alistair, Arley, Caroline, and Jazmine were fitted with graduation caps, and Fredericktown R-1 School District Assistant Superintendent Melanie Allen read an inspirational poem about developing character and mind. Then the graduates accepted their certificates of completion from Allen.

As a reward for their hard work, the graduates each selected a new picture book and a treat courtesy of First State Community Bank in Fredericktown and Ironton.
