Community Hearts provides 65 haircuts, 150 meals

Members of the community enjoy the free Community Hearts event, July 29, hosted by Grace Church at Teen Town and the Memorial Park Pavilion.

Grace Sharing Hope and 1 Sixteen Barber & Beauty hosted a successful free community event, Saturday. Organizers reported 65 people came out for free haircuts and 150 hotdog lunches were served.

The Community Hearts event is something which has been put together for several years as a way to get ready for the new school year, but the hosts make sure it is open to everyone. There is no age limit. Anyone who wanted a haircut or food was welcomed with open arms.

This year’s free haircuts were provided by 1 Sixteen Barber & Beauty Owner Cassie Abrigo along with hairdressers Deanna Banta, Donna Neal and Maddy Mathes.

Grace Sharing Hope is a mission service group from Grace Church of the Heartland. The event was organized by Cassie Abrigo and Jane Parker.
