Dennis Roger Umfleet

Dennis Roger Umfleet, 66, of Fredericktown, died Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Baptist Home in Arcadia, Missouri.  He was born November 11, 1956, in St. Louis, to Jerry and Ethel (Young) Umfleet. 

Dennis married Carol Long in Fredericktown. She survives. He is also survived by his mother Ethel Umfleet; sister Beverly Miller; nephews Jonathan, Clayton (Jamie) and Jerry K. Miller; and many cousins and friends.

Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He went on to pursue a career as a pilot with numerous airlines and Flight Safety.  He later worked for Probation and Parole for the State of Missouri where he retired. 

Dennis had a true love of flying but would try his hand at nearly anything. He loved gospel and country music, reading, photography and spending time with his family and friends. He was of Christian faith.

Graveside services were Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown with Chaplain Kamela Wren officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
