Tuesday Roundup: North County, Potosi tennis teams stay unbeaten

BONNE TERRE – Claire Scott pulled through in a tiebreaker, and the North County girls tennis team swept the singles phase against Fredericktown in an 8-1 victory on Tuesday.
The doubles pairings of Lucy Pace with Camille Skaggs and Alli Scott with Kinley Tracy prevailed in decisive fashion as the Lady Raiders stayed unbeaten.
Tracy edged Clara Basden 8-6 at the No. 3 singles level, and Pace dropped just one game during her contest at the top against Emiley Geen.
Alli Scott, Chloe Roach and Skaggs also won for North County (5-0, 3-0).
Haley Tucker and Ella Clauser seized a No. 3 doubles triumph, 8-6, for Fredericktown (2-2, 1-2).

POTOSI – Strong performances across the doubles schedule help Potosi secure a 6-3 conference victory over visiting Arcadia Valley on Tuesday.
Top tandem Lani Elder and Tori Krebs collected an 8-4 win against Madeline Coles and Lily Pursley. Hannah Barron and Aubree Wilson prevailed by the same 8-4 margin.
Gracie Lawson and Kensington Davies had the largest final margin of 8-2 before Potosi (3-0, 2-0) carried the overall match with an even singles split.
Arcadia Valley (0-5, 0-2) controlled the top half of the rankings. Reese Brogan earned a solid 8-2 result while both Coles and Pursley each avenged their earlier combined defeat.
Davies edged Meleah Lara 9-7 at the No. 4 ranking. Barron and Wilson gained early control during their respective singles matches for the Lady Trojans.

FARMINGTON – Nothing was settled on the scoreboard through 100 minutes of soccer action between Farmington and longtime district rival Cape Central on Tuesday night.
Logan Schaupert made back-to-back superb saves after two overtime periods were completed, and the Knights earned the victory via 4-2 edge in penalty kicks.
Logan Kiepe, Dustin Randazzo, Hayden Wade and Trent Rector converted on consecutive attempts for Farmington (3-0).
SOFTBALL
Kelly 10, North County 0
BONNE TERRE – Blaire Riley homered, drove in five runs, and matched Ava Legrand by going 3-for-4 on Tuesday as Kelly defeated North County 10-0 in six innings.
Macy Burger pitched a dazzling two-hitter for Kelly (5-4, 2-1), which grabbed a 5-0 lead after two frames and compiled 12 hits overall.
North County (0-5, 0-3) committed three errors behind losing pitcher Sammy Waller, who allowed eight earned runs and struck out three.
Kensey Marler and Emma Roper singled for the Lady Raiders.
CROSS COUNTRY
Sullivan Invitational
SULLIVAN, Mo. – West County picked up two varsity girls medals during the Sullivan Invitational cross country meet on Tuesday.
Jazmine Morris (24:28) placed fourth overall, and teammate Paige Monroe (25:33) crossed 10th for the Lady Bulldogs.
Sullivan junior Mariah Denney (20:55) topped the girls field of 29 runners.
