Collision with dump truck results in injuries


The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported several accidents since last Thursday, including a collision with a dump truck at Cherokee Pass.

MSHP reported a collision at 10:17 a.m. on Thursday involving a 2007 Lincoln Towncar and a 1995 Western Star dump truck, resulting in an injury to the driver of the Towncar.

Driven by Amber Teater, 22, of Fredericktown the Towncar reportedly pulled into the path of the dump truck driven by Zebulon J. Sanders, 44, also of Fredericktown, at US 67 and Cherokee Pass.

Teater was said to have sustained moderate injuries.

The Towncar, which was listed as totaled, was taken from the scene by D and D Towing. The dump truck, which received extensive damage, was removed by a private party.

A Sunday evening accident resulted in moderate injuries to the driver, according to the patrol crash reports.

A 17-year-old juvenile from Bonne Terre reportedly lost control of her 2000 Ford Taurus on Sunday at 5:55 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a left curve while traveling north on Hillsboro Road, north of Iris Lane.

According to the patrol’s crash report, the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, resulting in moderate injuries to the driver. The patrol report indicates the driver was not wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries, and was transported to Parkland Health Center by St. Francois County Ambulance.

The car, removed from the scene by Marler’s Towing, was a total loss.

A separate accident at 2:03 Saturday afternoon on southbound US 67 at Highway Y resulted in minor injuries to the driver, according to the patrol.

Nina G. Evans, 67, of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, reportedly fell asleep at the wheel of her 2018 Toyota Corolla. That resulted in her car traveling off the right side of the road, striking an embankment, and overturning, according to the report. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was transported by St. Francois County Ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre.

The Toyota was taken from the scene by Marler’s Towing and was listed as totaled.

A Madison County accident on Thursday resulted in the driver and two passengers being transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
