Fredericktown R-1 Homecoming 2023: “Blackcats Turn UP” Parade and Celebration
Provided by Fredericktown R-I The Fredericktown R-I Homecoming Parade will begin at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8 with a parade. The route will start at the Rock Wall, travel down Marshall Street, take a left on West College Ave, right on South Wood (bringing the fun right past Stockhoff Nursing Home), right on West Main Street, traveling around the square, and ending on North Main Street at Azalea Park.
The Fredericktown R-1 School District is gearing up for a week-long Homecoming celebration this year with the theme “Blackcats Turn UP.”
The week will start off strong with the Homecoming Parade and Kickoff Celebration, aiming to strengthen the bond between the school and the community while spreading school pride and spirit.
The Blackcats will take on the Borgia Knights for Homecoming, so feel free to adorn your decorations and attire accordingly. The FHS StuCo theme for 2023 Homecoming is “Blackcats Turn UP,” providing inspiration for your decor.
If you are looking for some Blackcats gear consider ordering the official Homecoming shirts, available at the price of $10 each. Shirts can be ordered through any of the building offices.Wherever the shirt is ordered is where it will be picked up. The deadline for orders and payments is Sept. 15, 2023. Secure your Homecoming shirt before the deadline to proudly display your school spirit throughout the week and at the big game, Friday night.

The Homecoming Parade invites entries from all campuses, including floats, wagons, decorated vehicles, and walkers (grades 6-12 ONLY). Following the parade, head to Wanda Priest (Azalea) Park for an array of exciting activities. Food trucks, organized pickleball/sand volleyball, and music, coordinated by FHS StuCo, await. Dress in your finest school colors and attire to showcase your Blackcats spirit.
Let’s ensure that Fredericktown R-1 Homecoming 2023 becomes an unforgettable experience for students, staff, parents, and the entire community. Join the celebration on Sunday, Oct. 8, and order your Homecoming shirts by Sept. 15.
