Cross Country Cats compete in A.V. meet

FHS freshmen, from left, Charis Moss, Breanna Bone, Laila Stephens, and Larkin Strong, each medalled in the junior varsity race at the Arcadia Valley Invitational, Saturday.
The Blackcats Cross Country team traveled to Arcadia Valley Saturday for an invitational which hosted more than 40 teams.
The freshman girls again led the way in the junior varsity race, with all four medalling. Breanna Bone cruised to a second place finish, followed closely behind by Laila Stephens. Larkin Strong crossed next with Charis Moss right behind her, both in the top 25.
Maddison Phares, Braden Braswell and Ethan Vance also competed in the varsity races.
Arcadia Valley was the first meet of the season for the middle school team, which was represented by Elyse Laut, Adelyn Knobeloch, Wesley Jones, Weston Roberts and Caedus Presson.
Both the middle school and high school teams will travel to Mineral Area College Sept. 16 to compete in the Bismarck Invitational.
