Gary Wayne Turnbeau
Gary Wayne Turnbeau, 70, of Yorba Linda, CA, died Sunday, September 3, 2023 in Yorba Linda. He was born February 5, 1953, in Fredericktown, to Betty B. (Brown) Turnbeau McCarver and Willard Emmett Turnbeau.
Mr. Turnbeau was preceded in death by both parents and a niece.
Gary is survived by wife Patricia; sisters Sharon Edwards (Lawton, OK), Twila Sanders and Violet McCarver Boswell (Fredericktown, MO), Rhonda McCarver Grosberg (French Village, MO), and Deb Reagan (Arcadia, MO); and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1971 and left for Marine Corps recruit training in San Diego, CA, in August of that year. He later met and married Patricia Brant, his wife of 45 years, in Los Alamitos, CA. In addition to being stationed in Missouri while on recruiting duty, they traveled the world including diplomatic missions in Budapest, Hungary and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Gary retired from the Marine Corps in 1996 as a Sergeant Major of Marines. He could also boast of his honorary title of Colonel, having graduated from the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, MO, while stationed nearby.
While never having any children, Gary and Pat always seemed to have plenty of pups on hand, well just because. Gary was not a religious man but believed that there is a heaven for all animals.
If you want to try and coax one more smile out of Gary, do so by making a generous donation to your local animal rescue.
There will be a private cremation with no follow-on services.
