PARK HILLS – Iesha Rollins scored her first two goals of the season, and the Mineral Area women’s soccer team eased past visiting Lincoln Land 5-1 on Wednesday.
Jersey Moonier added a goal and assist, and the Cardinals produced 24 shots and seven corner kicks while dominating their winless opponent.
Tash Goodwin buried a pass from Rylee Mirth in the 39th minute to give Mineral Area (2-4-1) a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Lincoln Land (0-7-2) tallied in the 58th minute, but Moonier took an assist from Rosalie Coughlin off the ensuing kickoff to restore a 4-1 edge.
Emilia Wunderlich opened the scoring with a penalty kick – her second such conversion in as many games – and Rollins made it 2-0 about three minutes later.
Rollins netted her second late in the action on an assist from Lydia Pascoe, and finished with a team-high six shots on goal.
Nevaeh Larkins and Merle Tieseler each made one save for the Cardinals, who will host St. Louis for a key Region 16 match on Saturday.
