Softball Cats win tournament, improve to 11-1

Fredericktown wins the Barb Charboneau Softball Tournament, Sept. 15-16, in Festus.

The FHS softball team won the Barb Charboneau Tournament, Friday and Saturday, in Festus. 

The Cats opened the tournament defeating the host St. Pius Lancers, 15-5, Friday. Allie Bloom had four hits, including a pair of doubles. Sadie Gibson had three triples. Jonsyn Rehkop, Miley Wengler, and Laynee King also had three hits, each. Michaela Reagan got the complete game victory, allowing two earned runs on eight hits. 

Saturday moring, the Cats defeated Valley Park, 11-7 in the first of two games. Wengler had three hits to pace the offense. Reagan got the victory on the mound.

The Cats completed their 3-0 tourney with a 26-6 victory over Herculaneum, Saturday afternoon. Gibson and Rehkop each had four hits. Wengler had three and drove home four runs. Rehkop and Calie Allgier also added four RBI. Gibson pitched the final four innings for the victory.

Fredericktown defeated Saxony Lutheran, 6-5, Sept. 12, at Saxony. Gibson, Wengler, and Reagan each had two hits. Reagan got the complete game victory allowing just two earned runs on eight hits.

Monday, Sept. 18, the Cats won 13-3 at Perryville. Bloom had three hits and Reagan got the victory, as the team improved to 11-1.

Fredericktown hosts North County Thursday. The Cats play in the Doniphan Tournament Saturday.
