Cats third in MAAA cross country meet

Freshmen Breanna Bone and Laila Stephens are both all-conference in girls cross country after finishing fifth and seventh, respectively, in the MAAA meet, Saturday, at Potosi.

The Blackcats traveled to the Potosi Invitational, Oct. 7. This meet also serves as the MAAA Conference race for the high school teams.

Freshman Breanna Bone cruised to a fifth place All-Conference finish, setting a new school record with a time of 21:30. Freshman Laila Stephens was also All-Conference, finishing in seventh place with a new personal record. Maddison Phares, Larkin Strong and Charis Moss all set personal records as well, sealing third place for the team.

In the middle school races, Elyse Laut earned a medal by finishing in the top 30.

Both the middle school and high school teams will race at Engler Park in the Farmington Invitational on Saturday October 14th. This meet will serve as the Middle School MAAA conference meet.
