Earlier this month, Park Hills Mayor Stacey Easter was awarded the Certified Municipal Official designation by the Missouri Municipal League. The city of Park Hills expresses its congratulations to Easter on its website by mentioning her unwavering commitment to the well-being of the city.
The Park Hills website states that, “This prestigious award is given to municipal officials who complete a series of courses on various topics related to municipal government.” It goes on to say out of 219 Certified Municipal Officials in Missouri, only three are in St. Francois County, and Easter is one of those three.
A press release from the city of Park Hills states Easter completed courses on topics such as the Missouri Sunshine Law, budget basics, local economic incentive tools, FEMA, ethics, fundamentals of municipal government, conducting city business, heart-led resilient leadership, creating an authentic servant leadership culture, and legacy leadership. This achievement demonstrates her commitment to serving the community and her dedication to continuing education.
About receiving the award, Easter said, “I am honored to receive this recognition from the Missouri Municipal League. The courses were challenging, but I learned a great deal about how to better serve our community. I look forward to applying this knowledge to my work as mayor.”
The Missouri Municipal League is an organization that provides training, resources, and advocacy for municipal officials. The Certified Municipal Official designation is a recognition of the knowledge and skills required to effectively serve in local government.
