Sideshow Tattoos and Piercings recently hosted a Shop With a Cop fundraiser at its Shop in Park Hills.

Owner Docc Nutter set a fundraising goal of $4,000 for the Friday the 13th event. With the combined efforts of Bonne Terre’s Immortal Keep Tattoo Studio and Park Hills’ Geek Ink, 130 people received “flash tattoos,” and 37 received piercings.

Several of the people who were tattooed reportedly got more than one.

“Immortal Keep and Geek Ink, along with my crew at Sideshow, worked hard and put out great tattoos,” Nutter said. “My counter girls [Mandy Patterson and Paige Brown] kept the flow of people moving. My wife [Jodi Nutter] making stencils all day made it easy for the artists to do their jobs.”

The community came through for Shop With a Cop and refused to allow Docc Nutter not to meet his goal. A follow-up fundraiser is planned for Oct. 29 beginning at 1 p.m., hosted by Park Hills Underground, 104 Rinke St., and sponsored by Sideshow Tattoos and Piercings, Immortal Keep Tattoo Studio, Geek Ink, The Tippy Jo Show, and The Ashlar Complex.

Bands rained out of the original event will perform on the Park Hills Underground stage. Vendors, food trucks, activities for kids, and special appearances by Disney’s Princess Elsa, Disney’s Tinkerbell, and other popular characters are scheduled to perform.

Tiffany Wright and Tina Weir encourage people in the community to join them for “a fantastic cause and a fun-filled day” at Park Hills Underground.

They added, “Let’s unite as a community and make this event a roaring success for a cause close to our hearts. Mark your calendars, spread the word, and show our support for Shop with a Cop.”
