Daniel Patrick Lawrence Murphy

PARK HILLS – Daniel Patrick Lawrence Murphy, 73, of Farmington, Missouri, was born July 8, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri. He went to be with the Lord October 23, 2023.
Danny was a great husband, father, brother, friend, and son. He battled many illnesses in the last 6 years of his life here on Earth. His strength was one of a kind. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, Daniel never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes and would even make silly faces to try and lighten the mood. Daniel loved pulling pranks on his nurses and family during his hospital trials. This was his way of letting us know he was strong and would fight until his last day… and that he did.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel P. Murphy and Betty ‘Morris’ Murphy Johnson.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Peggy ‘Wadlow’ Murphy,three children, Scott Daniel Murphy and wife Staci, and their children, Cole, Carson, and Casen; Tracie McMahan and husband Mike, and their children, Callie and Tayler; and Christie Jones and husband P.J., and their children, Kenzie, Jaxon, and Grace. One sister, Sharon Petty and husband Rev. DeWayne Petty; other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will be 10 a.m., until time of funeral service at 2 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home in Park Hills, Missouri, with Rev. Roger Hogan officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington, Missouri.
