Cats fall in volleyball district semifinals

The Fredericktown High School volleyball season ended Monday.

The Blackcats lost to Saxony Lutheran in the semifinals of the Class 3, District 1 Tournament, Oct. 23, at Dexter High School.

The Crusaders captured the first set 25-18. Fredericktown won the second, 25-22. The pivotal third set was a back and forth contest with which had several lead changes and ties, including a 24-24 deadlock. Saxony Lutheran won 26-24. Fredericktown was able to tie the match with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set. The Crusaders won the fifth and deciding set 15-6.

The Blackcats reached the semifinals after winning their opening round match in straight sets, 25-4, 25-15, 25-12.
