The Fredericktown High School football season came to a close Friday night at Ste. Genevieve.
The Cats were defeated 48-6 by the Dragons in the opening round of the Missouri Class 3, District 1 playoffs.
Ste. Genevieve opened the scoring on the first possession of the game. The home team went 64 yards on five plays and led 7-0 with ten minutes left in the first quarter. The Dragons added two more scores in the first quarter. A downpour which started in the second quarter didn’t slow the Ste. Genevieve offense, which scored three more times to lead 42-0 at halftime.
Fredericktown scored on a 25-yard pass play from Easton Wood to Zander Stephens with 6:51 to play in the game.
The Dragons added a late score to complete the scoring.
