Two Blackcats qualify for state cross country meet

Freshmen Breanna Bone (left) and Laila Stephens each receive medals in the district cross country meet, Oct. 28, at Notre Dame and will compete in the Class 3 State Championships Nov. 4, in Columbia.

The Varsity Blackcats raced at Cape Notre Dame for the Class 3 District 1 Championships Oc. 28.

Freshmen Laila Stephens and Breanna Bone finished with All-District honors, coming in 7th and 8th place respectively. This performance qualifies them for the Class 3 State Championships Nov. 4, in Columbia, where they will compete for one of the top 30 spots and All-State honors.

Senior Braden Braswell, Junior Ethan Vance and freshmen Charis Moss and Larkin Strong also ran for the Blackcats, wrapping up their seasons with strong performances.
