Lola Marie Cooper
BONNE TERRE – Lola Marie Cooper, 92 of Bonne Terre passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus. She was born Monday, September 21, 1931, in Moran, Kansas, to the late John and Myrtle Olive (Smith) Cross. Lola was said to be a light in her family, and a joy at Fox C-6 School District where she served as a cafeteria worker for more than fifteen years. She will be remembered for her smile, caring gestures, and dedication to the children. She enjoyed playing poker, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Cooper; sister, Freda Miller; brothers, Delmar “Pete” Cross, and Don Cross.
Lola is survived by her children, Carl (Elaine) Cooper and Debbie Taylor; two grandchildren, Brandi Taylor, Bradford Taylor and wife Katie Schmidt-Taylor; two great grandchildren, Jaden Kozloski and Jack Morrison; brother, Ken (Jane) Cross; sister in-law, Lenora Lind along with many nieces and nephews that survive. Lola will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, from 10 a.m. until service time of 12 p.m. with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Churchyard Cemetery at 7600 Rockhill Rd, Affton MO 63123. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in Lola’s memory.
