Blackcats lose home opener to Kingston

The Fredericktown High School boys basketball team lost 55-37 to Kingston, Monday, here.

It was the Cats’ first action in more than a week and the team’s first home game of the 2023-2024 season.

Fredericktown led 14-8 after one quarter, and trailed just 23-20 at halftime. Kingston got nine from Cody Yates in the third quarter and increased its lead to 45-30.

For the game, Zander Stephens led the Cats with 10 points. Blake Terry-Brakefield had eight, Brayden McMinn had six, Tim DeSanto scored five, LeeAndrea Catchings scored four, and Caleb Feltz and Miguel Milan each scored two.

Yates had 25 for the Cougars.

Fredericktown hosts Perryville, Friday night (Dec. 8) for homecoming.
