Levi Rawson
The West St. Francois County R-4 School District will be under new leadership in July 2024.
Superintendent Dr. Kevin Coffman announced the West County School Board’s decision to appoint Levi Rawson as the superintendent. Rawson served previously as high school principal and is currently deputy superintendent for the district.
“Levi has been an invaluable member of our district, having demonstrated exceptional leadership in his roles as a building principal and, most recently, as deputy superintendent,” said Coffman. “His dedication, passion and commitment to the success of our students and staff have not gone unnoticed.”
Coffman said the board’s decision to appoint Rawson as new superintendent is a “testament to the confidence they have in his ability to lead West County into a bright future.”
He continued to say he’s personally thrilled to welcome Rawson into this new role and is confident that Rawson’s guidance will help the district continue to thrive and excel.
“I am confident that his vision, leadership and collaborative spirit will propel our district to new heights,” said Coffman, “ensuring a positive and enriching experience for both students and staff.”
Rawson will take on his new role as superintendent on July 1, 2024.
Coffman has been superintendent of the district since 2019, after Stacy Stevens retired. He led the district as superintendent since 2001.
He said he is immensely grateful for the privilege of serving as the district’s superintendent.
“I have full confidence that Levi Rawson will lead with the same dedication, integrity and passion that I have witnessed during my tenure,” he said. “The future of our district is in capable hands, and I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success under Levi’s leadership.”
Rawson said he is blessed and excited for the opportunity to lead and serve the district in the future.
He told the staff that he’s looking forward to working with them to continue to do what is best for the students, staff, community and district.
“We have so many wonderful things to be proud of here at West County,” said Rawson, “and it is because of the hard work and dedication from all of you [the staff].”
