The Mineral Area Major Case Squad (MAMCS) was activated Tuesday morning to assist the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) in its search for a missing rural Potosi woman.
According to MAMCS, Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen requested the squad’s assistance in searching for Donna Janine (Cross) Eye. WCSO said it received a missing persons report for Eye last Thursday, Jan 11. Eye’s family reported the mission woman. More than a dozen MAMCS investigators are assigned to the investigation.
Eye is a 44-year-old white female from rural Potosi in Washington County. She was last seen during the early morning hours of Jan. 9 on or near Shirley School Road in Potosi. Eye was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans when she was last seen. The MAMCS asks that anyone with information to assist their investigation contact Washington County 911 at 573-438-1079.
In recent days, independent reporters and Eye’s family have heavily criticized the WCSO on multiple social media platforms regarding their involvement in the case. The Daily Journal will be publishing a story later this week providing additional details regarding the WCSO’s efforts in searching for the missing Washington County woman.
