Ella Swyres
Farmington Elks Lodge 1765 has announced that Ella Swyres was selected as Farmington High School’s “Student of the Month” for January.
The daughter of Alyssa and Jonathan Swyres, Ella was selected as Junior ROTC Cadet of the Year by the American Legion Department of Missouri, was the recipient of the Scholastic Excellence Medal, and is a member of the National Honor Society. She was Academic All-State in volleyball for two years and attended Missouri Girls State, where she was appointed state trooper for her city.
Ella has been a member of the JROTC program for three years, where she has served as corps commander, squadron commander, drill team commander, and flight sergeant for three years. She has been a member of the Knights in Action Executive Council for three years and serves as class representative for Senior Beta.
Ella has also been a member of the National Honor Society for two years and FBLA for one year. She also earned a spot on the Mineral Area College (MAC) dean’s list with a 4.0 GPA. She will be graduating from MAC this May with an associate degree.
After graduation from high school, Ella will be attending Missouri University, where she intends to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing, with plans to become a flight nurse in the Air Force. As Student of the Month, Ella will receive a $100 grant and will compete for the Farmington Elks Farmington High School Student of the Year to be awarded in May.
