On February 3, Lyndee and her parents, Wade and Stacy, headed to Hampton Lake so Lyndee could present her speech about Young Farmers/Young Farm Wives at the state level.
This speech topic is themed around the lives of farmers and farm families and how they affect agricultural education.
In this speech contest, contestants must recite a six to eight minute speech from memory to a panel of judges. After finishing their speech, contestants will then be asked a series of questions to test their knowledge over their chosen speech topic.
Lyndee had previously placed first at both the area and district level to earn her place at state competition.
When asked about her speech, Lyndee said: “Overall I’m really proud of my speech. It was an enjoyable topic to research, and I learned a lot about public speaking from all the events I attended.”
Even though Lyndee did not place first at state, she was extremely proud of the effort she put into her speech.
The Fredericktown FFA Chapter appreciates all of Lyndee’s hard work, and we are incredibly proud of how far she was able to go with her speech.
