The Fredericktown High School softball team defeated Farmington, 4-3, Monday (Sept. 16), at Farmington.
Fredericktown scored a single run in the first inning, but the home team scored three to take the lead. Fredericktown clawed its way back with a run in the top of the third and two more in the fifth inning. Meanwhile Cats’ pitcher Michaela Reagan shut the Knights down for the final six innings.
Reagan went all seven innings allowing three unearned runs on four hits. At the plate, Ella Penwell smacked a pair of doubles and Calie Allgier was 1-3 with two runs scored for the Cats, who defeated the Knights for the first time since 2016.
FHS defeated the East Carter Redbirds, 7-1, Sept. 10, here. Reagan got the victory allowing one run on four hits. She walked three batters and struck out six. Allgier was 3-4 with a double, a triple, and three runs scored. Miley Wengler was 2-3 with two runs and two RBI. Reagan was 3-4.
The Cats lost 4-0 to MAAA rival North County, Sept. 11, at North County.
Fredericktown hosts Perryville, Monday.
