Bob Schubert started playing drums at age 6 and professionally at age 12. He will be showing off his skills Saturday evening at the Farmington Centene Center.
Schubert is tour manager, co-owner and drummer of the Let’s Hang On! Frankie Valli Tribute Band concert tonight at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 and available at the civic center by calling 573-756-0900.
Bill Norman is also the co-owner, guitarist, and music director who wrote the arrangements for the show.
Schubert said the group was formed after Norman was approached by someone to put the show together. He asked Schubert to join him as drummer, tour manager, and co-producer.
He said he has booked Frankie Valli for two concerts in the past and has met him.
The tribute band will play many songs at Saturday evening’s concert, including some of Schubert’s favorites: “Working My Way Back to You,” “My Eyes Adored You” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”
Although those songs are his favorites, he knows three particular songs are guaranteed to get the crowd out of their seats and moving to the music to “Oh, What A Night,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” and “Walk Like a Man.”
Members of the Let’s Hang On! Frankie Valli Tribute Band includes Schubert; Norman; Kevin Doyle, piano; John King, bass; Natale Pirrotta, tenor one; Kyle Fowler, tenor two; Joshua Eleazer, baritone; and Myron Whittlesey, bass. The members live in Missouri, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee and New York.
The tribute band travels throughout the U.S. and abroad. The group has been touring nonstop for the past 14 years.
“We always have a live band and never tracked music,” said Schubert.
The Let’s Hang On! Frankie Valli Tribute Band pays tribute to not only the beloved The Four Seasons band but also to the popular Broadway musical “Jersey Boys.”
The band transports audiences back to the past to hear some of the best songs of the 1960s.

More About Frankie and The Four Seasons
Frankie Valli is the famous lead singer of The Four Seasons. He knew he wanted to become a successful singer after he went to a Frank Sinatra concert in New York.
When the unknown group performed the song “Sherry” on American Bandstand, the nation took note. They were suddenly the hottest band in the U.S.
Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons performed countless sold-out shows, sold more than 175 million records worldwide, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
With the Tony-winning “Jersey Boys” Broadway musical telling Frankie and The Four Seasons band members’ stories, new generations are falling in love with the group’s iconic songs.
The group’s success is staggering. They had eight No. 1 hit songs and more Billboard hits. Fan-favorite songs include “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” and “Rag Doll.”
Their music has appeared in popular movies like “Dirty Dancing,” “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Conspiracy Theory” and the TV show “The Sopranos.” More than 200 artists have done cover versions of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” including rapper Lauryn Hill’s hip-hop version.
The group’s musical influences may have started in the ’60s but have clearly stretched far beyond that decade.
