Tea party Saturday at Long Hall
Long Memorial Hall is the perfect place for Saturday’s afternoon tea party.
Jennie’s Tea Party is one of the special events planned for Saturdays in October to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Long Memorial Hall. The event begins at 1 p.m.
Ladies are encouraged to dress in casual tea party attire. They will enjoy tea and delicious food. Afterward, guests will enjoy a trolley ride to Long House where they will take part in a guided tour of the grounds and home and learn about its significant history. The guided tour is optional and begins at the conclusion of the tea party at 3 p.m.
Farmington resident and local historian Jessie Williams will be the special guest speaker at the tea party. She will share interesting details about Jane Ambrose “Jennie” Long Bisby, who dedicated Long Memorial Hall to the City of Farmington in the 1920s. She is the one who the ladies’ tea party is named after and being done in her honor.
Anyone ages 12 and up who’d like to attend Saturday’s tea party should purchase a ticket online at DiscoverFarmingtonMo.com/upcoming-events. Admission is $25 per person.
