Brad Tinker with COUNTRY Financial in Bonne Terre visited the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department in Farmington on Nov. 12 with a $20,000 check to support the St. Francois County BackStoppers organization. Deputy Tim Harris accepted the check on behalf of the non-profit organization that provides financial support and emotional support to the families of first responders who have died or been catastrophically injured in the line of duty.
Tinker expressed his appreciation of the SFCSD and their tireless efforts to the community, and expressed his admiration for the BackStoppers organization and its valuable mission. He said he was happy to be a part of COUNTRY Financial’s program in matching contributions in support of law enforcement.
“It’s a great honor to present the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department with a $20,000 check on behalf of Country Financial to support the Backstoppers organization. As a prior law enforcement officer–for about 11 years with a lot of my time spent in Jefferson County, but I started off here–I understand the importance of this program and could not be more proud to represent a company that shares a passion for protecting these heroes and their loved ones,” Tinker said. “The company in our market started implementing these donations to assist with law enforcement. We also do it for educators as well.”
Founded in 1959 and based in St. Louis, BackStoppers helps families by covering expenses such as mortgage payments, medical bills, education costs, and other financial needs. The organization serves police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs. BackStoppers is supported through donations, fundraisers, and community events and serves serves 13 counties in Missouri and five in Illinois. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C counties served are Cape Girardeau, Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, Perry, Pike, St. Charles, St. Francois, St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Ste. Genevieve, Warren, and Washington. The Illinois State Police District 11 counties served are Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair.
