Resident death at Farmington Correctional Center

Farmington Correctional Center released the following information last week concerning the death of one of their residents. The statement reads: At 11 a.m. o­n Wednesday, May 7, 2025, resident James Wiley, DOC No.1014053, confined at Farmington Correctional Center, was pronounced dead at the institution.

Wiley was a 65-year-old resident serving a 40-year sentence for one count of kidnapping, five counts of forcible sodomy, and one count of child molestation from Jackson County. Wiley was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Jan. 26, 1999.

An autopsy will be conducted.

    Hello I stumbled across this doing an online search. Wiley was a long time friend of mine. Despite his crimes he did have some good things about him. May he rest in peace.

    Jim was a U.S.M.C. Veteran and a good man when i met him in early 2000’s.
    Im also a Veteran.
    He helped me in to recover from alcohol thru 12 step recovery.
    I recovery i still enjoy today. I’ll have 24 years sobriety next month.
    We are sad to here of his passing.
    I cant speak to his crimes but Jesus said “let he without sin cast the first stone”.
